Every inspiration tour begins with the story of Philips. This iconic company has had a huge impact on the development of Eindhoven and remains the cornerstone of the Brainport region to this day. We always start with an informative presentation that outlines the city’s history and its economic and spatial transformation.
We will now take a closer look at developments in various areas of Eindhoven and the surrounding region:
Strijp-S – the creative heart of Eindhoven
Strijp-S has been transformed from a former Philips industrial site into the creative heart of Brainport. In collaboration with VolkerWessels, the City of Eindhoven and housing associations, among others, this area has been developed step by step since the early 2000s into a vibrant urban district. It is a place where living, working, leisure and events come together. Development is still in full swing, meaning the area is constantly evolving.
Strijp-T – innovation and manufacturing
Strijp-T is a former Philips site (originally the power station) that has been redeveloped into an innovative campus for creative entrepreneurs and the manufacturing industry. The area embodies the principle of ‘make, create, innovate’ and forms a key link within the Brainport ecosystem, often working in close collaboration with Strijp-S.
High Tech Campus Eindhoven
The High Tech Campus is one of the most innovative square kilometres in Europe, where companies, start-ups and research institutions collaborate on world-class technology and innovation. Collaboration between science and industry is at the heart of what we do here.
Brainport Industries Campus (BIC)
The Brainport Industries Campus is a high-tech manufacturing hub where suppliers and innovative manufacturing companies, amongst others, work together. With the growth and expansion of companies such as ASML, this area is playing an increasingly important role in the international high-tech supply chain.
Woensel-West – from a disadvantaged neighbourhood to a creative urban district
Woensel-West has undergone an impressive transformation: from a former working-class neighbourhood facing social and safety challenges to a colourful, creative and vibrant urban district. Today, it stands as a model of urban regeneration and social progress in Eindhoven.
Tailor-made solutions & mode of transport
However, we do not currently recommend standard bus or cycle tours in Eindhoven city centre. Due to the extensive construction work and road closures in the city, traffic flow is restricted, meaning that groups often come to a standstill and are unable to fully experience what the city has to offer.
Customised programmes are, of course, also available, tailored entirely to the group’s requirements.
That is why we prefer to work with bespoke programmes, in which the routes and mode of transport are chosen in such a way that the experience and content remain the focus, allowing the group to make the most of the various locations and stories.
